The Role

We are seeking a creative video professional to help promote the stories of its outstanding researchers, faculty, students, and graduates to the world. The Digital Video Production Specialist will film, edit and render video projects using Adobe Premiere and After Effects in conjunction with the Creative Cloud suite. The Digital Video Production Specialist should also have experience with Adobe Photoshop & Lightroom

The individual will be confident in navigating a higher education environment; passionate about creating digital content, particularly video, and able to adapt to projects about research and teaching from disciplines as varied as Quantum Physics and Medieval Irish.

The successful applicant will be able to plan and conduct interviews with leading academics, university leaders, and students alike; storyboard and script interactions; and have the technical video production and post-production skills to create meaningful, insightful video content that is of high visual quality, compelling in its narrative and engaging to its audience.

The Digital Video Production Specialist will report to the Digital Communications Officer within the Communications and Marketing team, which falls under the Office of External Relations. S/he will work closely with a number of offices and academic departments across the University, creatively operating within the constraints of Maynooth University’s Identity Guidelines.

The challenge of this role is to be creative and innovative within the University environment. Personal time management and maintenance of high quality output in the face of regular deadlines will be paramount, the successful candidate must be able to deal with time-sensitive projects, both short social media video with a tight turnaround and longer term projects that require management of multiple deadlines.

Salary

Administrative Officer Grade II (2020): €37,976 – €54,647 p.a. (7 points)

Appointment will be made in accordance with the Department of Finance pay guidelines.

New entrants to the public sector will be appointed on the first point of the above scale.
