Role Description

This is an excellent opportunity to develop and enhance your experience as a fire fighter and join the Cranfield Airport Fire Service Management Team. 

As RFFS/Ops Deputy Crew Manager at Cranfield Airport, you will be an integral part of the management team and play a key role in the strategies relating to equipment, resources, training and the future development of the service. You will assist to manage a crew within the RFFS on site, ensuring that they remain in a constant state of readiness and are able to respond to any report incidents as needed. In addition you will aid the Crew Manager organise day to day operations that would include the completion of Airport Ops, testing equipment, fire drills, fitness activities and taking responsibility for training records.

In addition you will work on an agreed rota to support a wider range of essential operational functions to ensure ongoing efficiency and continuous improvement of the business these include but are not limited to Wildlife Management, Aerodrome Inspection Duties, Operations and Aircraft Handling.

In addition you will need show that you can adopt a flexible attitude to work, possess well-developed communication skills and that you have the ability to work effectively within a closely knit team environment.

To meet the requirements of this role you must have a full valid UK driving licence, be medically fit and able to meet the required fitness standards for Fire Fighters and be willing to undertake regular theoretical and practical training.

Previous aviation fire-fighting experience (Civil Aviation Authority - CAA approved certification) would be an advantage as would a LGV2 Licence. We are looking for someone who has had significant previous experience of working within an operational role in the Fire Service.
