A Research Fellow position is currently available in the School of Physical & Mathematical Sciences, NTU.

Job Responsibilities

  • Spearhead ongoing efforts to model new spintronic storage devices and incorporate them in the design and analysis of brain-inspired neuromorphic computing systems
  • Interact with researchers in School of Computer Science and Engineering towards developing system-level device models and aid in designing brain-inspired computing circuitry
  • Characterization of spintronic devices using electrical/magnetic testing
  • Support in developing a device model of the targeted spintronic devices
  • Explore the use of the device in brain-inspired computing
  • Design basic building blocks of neuromorphic computing circuits
  • Mentor PhD and Masters/undergraduate students

Job Requirements

  • PhD in Physics/Materials Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Science
  • Experience in using probing stations for device characterization
  • Experience in device modeling (HSpice, Verilog-A) of logic and data-storage elements
  • Prior knowledge in neuromorphic computing
  • Work independently and as a part of team
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Perform several experiments and to interact with researchers of different organizations

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.

The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility: 

• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university. 

Terms and Conditions: 
• The Fellowship will be tenable for a period of 3 years.  
• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
