Salary package: AUD $73,309 - $113,165 plus 17% superannuation

The ANU College of Asia and the Pacific (CAP) leads intellectual engagement with the Asia-Pacific region through research, teaching and contributions to public debate, and seeks to set the international standard for scholarship concerning the region.
The School of Regulation and Global Governance (RegNet) is one of four Schools in CAP. RegNet undertakes research and education in governance and regulation associated with major social and environmental issues. Our work is based on principles of social justice, sustainability and human well being. We test and develop theory; provide rigorous qualitative and quantitative empirical evidence on important issues, and proactively engage in the policy debates in Australia, the Asia Pacific region and internationally.
RegNet harnesses deep disciplinary expertise alongside a world renowned approach to interdisciplinary – drawing critically upon theory and methodologies from a range of fields including anthropology, criminology, economics, international relations, law, philosophy, political science, psychology, public administration, public health, and sociology. Currently we work in the following thematic areas: Climate, Energy & the Environment; Law, Justice and Human Rights; Society, Safety & Health; Trade, Investment & Intellectual Property. We welcome new research directions.

We are seeking up to two Postdoctoral or Research Fellows to join our team working on issues related to geoeconomics, an area that sits at the intersection of geopolitics, economics, security and technology. The Postdoctoral / Research Fellows would produce sole authored and co-authored academic outputs and help to write and coordinate a policy report on geoeconomics.
There is scope within the project for the Postdoctoral / Research Fellow to pursue individual and collaborative academic projects that fit within a broadly defined approach to geoconomics. Areas of potential interest include economic statecraft, economic coercion, the political economy of interdependence, export controls, foreign investment screening, national security exceptions in trade and investment, technology standard-setting, digital connectivity (e.g. 5G), supply chain resilience, technological competition, economic and technological decoupling, and relations between governments and corporations.
Given the interdisciplinary nature of this area, we welcome applications from all disciplinary backgrounds.
One full-time position is available, or the position may be filled by two part-time appointments based on negotiation with the successful applicant/s.
