Job Details

The Asian School of the Environment is seeking a Research Fellow to support participatory action research on liveable cities in Asia-Pacific.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conducting literature review on liveability and cultural ecosystem services in Southeast Asia
  • Co-developing new participatory action research projects in Singapore and focal cities studied by the Resilient and Liveable Cities research group in Southeast Asia
  • Communicating finding through conferences and writing of scientific papers

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • PhD in a field related to environmental management, landscape architecture, or urban design
  • Experience conducting participatory action research in urban design or related field
  • Creativity, enthusiasm, and positive attitude
  • Excellent project management skills, organization, and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communications skills
  • Experience working internationally and with diverse non-academic audiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Work experience in Southeast Asia
  • Experience in teaching and supervising students

About Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF)

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.

The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility: 

• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university. 

Terms and Conditions: 
• The Fellowship will be tenable for a period of 3 years.  
• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
