012510 - UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1, UCD School of Computer Science, 24 Months

Applications are sought for the role of Post-doctoral Research Fellow (Level 1) for a project in the area of Cultural Analytics, which will involve the development of methods for the analysis of multimodal data (e.g. textual data, image data) from historical archives. The researcher will work as part of an interdisciplinary team at the SFI-funded Insight Centre for Data Analytics in UCD, and in collaboration with other researchers at the ERC-funded VICTEUR project.

The successful candidate should have a PhD in Computer Science or a related disciplines, with a proven track record of research and publications in the areas of text mining and natural language processing. Excellent programming skills are essential. Ideally the candidate will also have past experience of working with researchers from other disciplines.

This is a research focused role, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training and development under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator.

The primary purpose of the role is to further develop your research skills and competences, including the processes of publication in peer-reviewed academic publications, the development of funding proposals, the mentorship of graduate students along with the opportunity to develop your skills in research led teaching.

Salary: €37,874 per annum
