One Research Fellow position is currently available in the School of Physical & Mathematical Sciences, NTU.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting literature review
  • Carrying out research related activities assigned by Principal Investigator
  • Disseminating the outcomes of research in peer-reviewed journals
  • Report preparation and data management 
  • Designing and conducting experiments
  • Develop convolutional neural network model for image processing/reconstruction
  • Exploiting advances in singularity optics for far field imaging with molecular resolution   
  • Noise analysis due to unwanted scattering and interference effects
  • Generations and manipulation of polarization singularities
  • Metasurface designing, fabrication and performance evaluation for AI based deep subwavelength imaging 

Job Requirements

  • Should have completed the PhD thesis in photonics.
  • The candidate must have experience in all the following areas – polarization singularities, V-points and lattices consisting of Poincare vortices, dark C-points, terahertz spectroscopy, 2D material physics, computational mathematics. 
  • Capable to work independently as well as to work in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual and programming abilities

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.

The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility: 

• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university. 

Terms and Conditions: 
• The Fellowship will be tenable for a period of 3 years.  
• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
