The College of Engineering at the UAE University has a vacancy for an experienced manufacturing technician (machinist and fabricator) to join immediately and support world leading research and teaching. Applicants must have strong experience and hands-on in CNC machining as well as in the conventional workshop technologies. He must be capable of delivering technical support to students and researchers in the design and manufacturing area. Experiences and expertise in mechanical assembly and prototyping of experimental apparatus along with experience in using CAD and CAD/CAM software packages are sought. Applicants should also be capable of learning new fabrication techniques including additive manufacturing, 3D printing and laser cutting, etc. Selected candidate will provide training, guidance and specialist advice on laboratory techniques and testing to students and staff who need to use the lab facility. This also includes ensuring that strict safety procedures are always followed in the laboratory.

Minimum Qualification

The applicants should have High Diploma or equivalent industrial experience. Good organizational skills are essential, together with the ability to understand and explain diverse technical and design problems to staff and students.
