The School of Biological Sciences invite applications for the position of Project Officer. The respective project is part of a newly established National Research Foundation (NRF)-funded Competitive Research Program (CRP).

Job Description

  • Work in the laboratory of the lead PI Prof Peter Dröge on the development of a new platform for improved protein therapeutics (e.g. antibodies, factor VIII) produced by mammalian expression systems using our own propriety genome editing tool that is based on variants of phage lambda integrase
  • The work involves mammalian cell culturing, protein purification, biochemical assays, genome editing analysis and many standard molecular biology techniques

Job Requirements

  • BA degree in Biological Sciences with honours
  • Keen interest in biotechnology is a prerequisite
  • Demonstrated experience in mammalian cell culturing and many standard molecular biology techniques

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.

The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility: 

• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university. 

Terms and Conditions: 
• The Fellowship will be tenable for a period of 3 years.  
• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
