About the Role

  • The Dean of Teaching, Learning and Student Experience provides strategic vision and academic leadership and implements activities supporting our students’ academic experience.
  • Reporting to the Pro-Vice-Chancellor and working in collaboration with the Academic Registrar and Dean of Research and Knowledge Exchange, staff and academic departments, the post holder will support our endeavours to deliver a high quality, inclusive and consistent academic experience for all students, enhancing student engagement, academic outcomes and well-being.

About You

  • You will be a proactive individual, who will see a project through from idea to implementation, leading from the front.
  • You will ensure teaching excellence is at the heart of all of our endeavours through line management of the academic Heads of Department and Head of Teaching and Learning.
  • You will be an experienced academic manager with a track record of working with people to deliver enhancements to the academic student experience.
  • You will be a persuasive communicator with the ability to build relationships based on trust, you will be skilled at working through negotiation and influence.
  • You will possess exemplary judgement, energy and resilience and share our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusivity.
  • Hold a teaching qualification and a postgraduate qualification ideally in our subject area or related to teaching and learning, with a research profile being advantageous.
  • Be highly motivated with a commitment to the highest quality of teaching and learning and student experience.
