The School of Computing Science is looking to recruit an outstanding researcher who can work with the Glasgow Interactive Systems Team (GIST) to develop new interactive technologies capable of understanding and responding to the behaviour of their users.

The Glasgow Interactive Systems Team (GIST) is a world-leading research group investigating interactive technologies (from mobile phones to social robots, from ultrasonic haptics to usable security) that can understand their users, optimise and enrich interactions between users and technology, model and predict usage patterns, and infer socially and psychologically relevant phenomena such as social signals, emotions and mental health issues. The ideal candidate combines solid methodological skills with an interest to address real-world problems that involve the interaction between people and technology.

GIST provides an ideal ground for academic growth. In addition, its 7 members have accumulated more than 25,000 Scholar citations and have been or are leading  large-scale national and European projects (including the ERC advanced grant "Viajero", the Network Plus grant "Human Data Interaction", the FET-Open project "Levitate", the H2020 project MuMMER, the European Network of Excellence "SSPNet", the Program Grant "Populations", etc.) for a total of over £20M in the last 10 years.

The successful candidate will make a substantial and positive contribution to the strategic direction of the School/College through leading and contributing to world-changing and internationally- competitive research, high quality teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, securing research funding, and providing academic leadership and management within the School/College.

Minimum Qualifications Required:
