PROGRAMMABLE LOGIC CONTROL (PLC), CONTROLS AND DATA ACQUISITION SPECIALIST/ENGINEER, Haystack Observatory, to join the Lincoln Space Surveillance Complex (LSSC), which operates and maintains three very active space surveillance radar systems for the Air Force Space Command. The LSSC seeks a control system engineer who specializes in design, implementation, and maintenance for programmable logic control systems and similar data acquisition systems used for operation and monitoring of all aspects of radar hardware. These control systems are responsible for antenna servo system monitoring, high-voltage transmitter operation, cooling plant control, etc. Will support existing systems as well as design and upgrade new systems.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: at least five years’ engineering experience; a bachelor’s degree in electrical, computer, or mechanical engineering; experience and interest in programming and electronic hardware design; at least two years’ experience with the design and programming of PLC hardware; ability to lead design efforts and mentor less-experienced engineers and technicians on operations and maintenance; ability to interpret and update electrical schematics and wiring diagrams; and proficiency with Microsoft Office products Excel, Word, and Visio. Familiarity with the Allen-Bradley PLC product line desirable, as is experience with Ladder logic, structured text programming, and developing user intuitive GUIs via RSLogix. Experience with LabVIEW a plus. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance. LSSC is located in Westford, MA. Job #18100
