About the Role

  • As the Research Fellow, you will be part of the Functional Materials and Microsystems Research Group undertaking high impact research spanning the discovery to translation pipeline
  • The primary focus of this role will be to plan, develop and engage in high quality research projects that are aligned with the objectives of the Australian Research Council Discovery Project DP200100126
  • You will contribute to ongoing industry research partnerships and in postgraduate research training
  • You will embed your research expertise into the life of the School through the development of high-quality research networks across RMIT community and with local and national, internal and external partners
  • You will engage in high quality research projects to achieve success in attracting research funding

As a Special Measures Women and/or Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander peoples applicant, you will have:

  • Emerging track record and recognition for quality research outputs evidenced by publications, development of new research initiatives, competitive research funding, and/or industry links
  • Previous experience in nanofabrication (particularly electron beam lithography), microfabrication, thin film processing, and electronic characterization
  • Ability to grow networks and build research collaborations
  • Ability to communicate research results, concepts and knowledge
  • Strong communication skills and ability to effectively and successfully interact with higher degree by research students, staff and industry, together with a strong commitment to teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

Mandatory: PhD or equivalent in relevant field.

Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children check.
