Job Summary

Individual will be required to perform finite element modeling of low friction mechanical structures and compare the results with impulse response measurements to evaluate the internal friction of thin films, useing Bayesian inference and MCMC methods.

Job Duties

Numerical analysis of experimental results, and the design of a new experiment using FEA methods.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4 years of physics or applied physics education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bayesian inference, FEA with COMSOL, MCMC methods combining Matlab and COMSOL
