Job Description

The Centre for Productive Longevity (CPL) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is seeking a Project Manager with strong research and project management background, to coordinate multi-disciplinary research and outcome assessment. The CPL aims to enable productive and purposeful engagement and promote financial well-being of Singapore residents. The research conducted at CPL will have to measure and demonstrate the impact of productive and purposeful engagement on physical and mental health and quality of life. The appointee will be involved in designing studies related to ageism / myths concerning older workers, intergenerational work teams, bidirectional effects of intergenerational relations, and socio-emotional connectivity, among others. The appointee will play an important role in facilitating longitudinal studies, surveys and functional capacity assessment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Liaise with research teams in different schools in NUS and overseas.
• Develop research protocols (which include requirements, scope, deliverables, budget and schedules), Institutional Review Board (IRB) application, set up and manage effective study procedures.
• Develop the interview topic guide, arrange and conduct interviews.
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative data analyses.
• Identify, manage and track issues, risks and dependencies that affect the delivery of the project outcome.
• Work effectively with project partners across sites and disciplines.
• Plan and coordinate project meetings, as well as present reports and project updates to stakeholders on a regular basis.
• Assist in writing papers for peer-reviewed publication.
• Additional duties as may reasonably be required within the scope described.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• PhD or Master's degree in Psychology, Social Science, Behavioural Science or related fields, or Bachelor's degree with equivalent (at least 2 years) research experience.
• Good knowledge of social sciences and methods and ability to apply it in a range of topics.
• Demonstrate expertise in using qualitative and quantitative methods, including literature reviews / evidence synthesis, conduct of in-depth interviews, conduct surveys, data analysis
• Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate dialogue with older people, fellow researchers, and the public.
• Demonstrate excellent research management and communication skills.
• Ability to do conversations in Chinese with older adults is a plus.
