Postdoctoral Research Associate
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in High Performance Computing with a particular emphasis on solvers scaling over large supercomputers, employing accelerators, and solving hyperbolic partial differential equations. The underlying research project ExaClaw aims to develop a hyperbolic equation system solver suite bringing together routines from ClawPack's Riemann solver repository, the ExaHyPE solver and Peano. The project is funded by EPSRC and shall lead into a larger grant bid - communication skills with (potential) collaborators thus is essential. It is Ied by Dr Tobias Weinzierl.
The successful applicant will be expected to work on the scheduling/balancing of the code over large supercomputers where the available resources per multi-node compute run change throughout the runtime. The applicant also will collaborate on the GPGPU port of the code and help the community to integrate the ClawPack solver routines. Successful applicants will, ideally, be in post by 1 August 2020.
