DIRECTOR OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATIONOffice of the Vice Chancellor (OVC), to direct financial, administrative, and desktop support functions and coordinate departmental space planning initiatives.  Will initiate and implement on-going assessments of administrative and financial programs and procedures and overall desktop support operations; provide support and analysis for both short- and long-term space planning activities for the offices that report to the OVC; identify and define financial issues throughout the offices reporting to the OVC, providing analysis of issues and developing tools to support recommendations; support and advise the vice chancellor on space and financial planning and policy; and act as integral part of vice chancellor’s administrative and leadership teams. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  a B.A./B.S. in a related field; ten years of financial experience, preferably in an academic setting and with administrative experience; strong analytical, problem-solving, supervisory, and oral and written communication skills; and experience with BrioQuery, Cognos, and Kuali Coeus.  Must be able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, deal effectively with people at all levels and across organizational boundaries; make decisions and deliver difficult news, manage the expectations of stakeholders, advocate for resources on behalf of OVC, influence/persuade others, train staff with various skill sets on financial policies and practices, and juggle competing demands and priorities with hard deadlines.  MIT experience preferred. Job #18674-13
