iBOCA RESEARCH SUPPORT ASSOCIATE, Laboratory for Information Decision Systems (LIDS)-Data to AI (DAI) Group, to be responsible for testing and improving a new iPad app (iBOCA) designed to test cognitive impairment. Will work on the development of the app and perform field testing at various locations in the greater Boston area. Field testing will entail working directly with users of the app, particularly elderly people who may or may not have cognitive impairment. Will also work with the technical team at MIT to process the user study data to improve the design and functionality of the app. The data will then be used to conduct machine learning research aimed at improving the effectiveness of the app as an assessment tool. Responsibilities will include recruiting study participants from various field sites; proctoring participants’ testing of the iBOCA app; observing testing and recording observations; suggesting changes to the app user interface based on participant experiences; ensuring data anonymization, that data is recorded properly, and managing the transfer of data between parties through secure channels; reaching out to potential field sites, in both clinical and community settings; organizing and conducting testing at new field sites; providing feedback and relaying field experience to technical team; and coordinating meetings with technical team.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: high school diploma; strong quantitative and analytical skills; ability to produce complex documents, perform analysis, and maintain databases; experience reviewing, analyzing, and summarizing scientific literature; meticulous attention to detail; and excellent interpersonal, organizational, writing, and project management skills.
PREFERRED: bachelor’s degree, experience working with elderly populations, healthcare related research or team experience, data management and data visualization experience, and Python technical skills. Job #18736-4
