EDUCATION COORDINATOR, MIT APP INVENTOR-COOLTHINK, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL), to act as the MIT liaison for the Coolthink project in Hong Kong. Coolthink brings computational thinking to fourth-, fifth-, and sixth-grade students through teaching Scratch and App Inventor. Will help to develop a new teacher training curriculum for Coolthink teachers, help run teacher training in Hong Kong, ensuring the implementation of MIT-developed teacher training materials in collaboration with partners in Hong Kong, and work closely with other MIT App Inventor team members to advance the educational goals of MIT App Inventor.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: B.A./B.S. (master’s preferred) in education, computer science, or related area; at least two years’ relevant work experience; computer science education experience; experience with MIT App Inventor and Scratch; experience training teachers; strong writing, presentation, problem-solving, time-management, decision-making, organizational, interpersonal, and customer service skills; meticulous attention to detail; proficiency with office software (including email, spreadsheets, and presentation); working knowledge of the internet and social media; ability work proactively and independently, prioritize workload, manage multiple projects and competing demands, deliver high-quality results, meet deadlines, and work productively in a remote work environment; discretion with sensitive/confidential information; experience living or working in Hong Kong and high-level knowledge of its education system; fluency in written and verbal English and Cantonese; and ability to transport materials/equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
PREFERRED: experience working with students/teachers on educational technology initiatives; experience with/knowledge of the Coolthink project; direct experience with MIT App Inventor in an educational context; experience with computer programming, formal or self-taught, and with artificial intelligence in education; and MIT experience. Will be required to live and work in Hong Kong for the duration of the project and to travel to the U.S. when necessary, possibly for extended periods of time.
This position is funded for twelve-months with the possibility of extension.
