At a time when the nursing profession globally has justifiable prominence and 2020 is the WHO’s ‘International Year of the Nurse and the Midwife’, we are delighted to present an extraordinary opportunity to lead QUT’s distinguished School of Nursing.

QUT is a young, dynamic, and energetic university with a global outlook and a ‘real-world’ focus. It is Australia’s fastest growing research university and invests in collaborative learning and interdisciplinary research environments. The School of Nursing has achieved an ERA Ranking 5 and is highly respected internationally for its academic excellence in research, teaching and learning, and leadership. It is one of seven Schools within the Faculty of Health.

The School of Nursing is seeking a new Head, a scholarly leader who will further enhance the School’s results. Sustaining and enriching partnerships is a key element of the position and the strategic priorities include a stronger integration of learning, teaching, research, and service and advancing inter-professional education within the Faculty. This large School has a rich history of delivering high quality, impactful research outcomes and outstanding learning experiences. The School’s researchers are global nurse leaders who sit on international bodies, expert advisory panels and international guidelines groups.

As Head of School you will provide strategic and operational management of the School, lead and promote excellence in all activities, foster a high performance culture, drive digital transformation and strengthen industry and international partnerships, leading to greater outcomes in the employability of graduates, research quality and impact, and professional education. Your collaborative, inspiring and empowering leadership style should be coupled with resilience to change. A focus on continuous improvement, innovation and sustainability will also be important in this significant leadership position.

If you are an accomplished nursing academic and leader, we invite you to consider this fantastic opportunity.
