Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor/Post-doctoral Fellow (several posts) in the Department of Chemistry (Ref.: 500214), to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, Computer Science or other relevant disciplines, and an excellent publication track record. Experience in conducting and managing scientific research as well as demonstrated expertise in research field relevant to the platform project mentioned below are required. They should also have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese, the ability to work independently as well as in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and external parties including academics and industrial society. Those with less experience may be considered for the appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow.

The appointees will participate in a multidisciplinary research to develop a big data/machine learning/scientific computing platform for discovery of next generation energy materials and design novel devices on computers or in silico, which is a 5-year large-scale project supported by the Innovation and Technology Commission. The project aims to transfer the success of Electronic Design Automation (EDA) in microelectronics to the energy industries, including the optoelectronic, electrochemical and chemical industries. Working off-campus may be required.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.
