A Project Officer position is available in the Immunology Laboratory of Prof Christiane Ruedl at the School of Biological Sciences, Nanyang Technological University.

Job Description

The team is looking for a well-rounded individual who will provide assistance to other laboratory members, and be responsible for administrative and logistical upkeep pertaining to laboratory operations such as:

  • Manage animal colony including genotyping and husbandry with basic phenotyping experiments
  • Oversee laboratory procurement, inventory maintenance and organization
  • Perform routine laboratory techniques – cell biology (tissue isolation, ELISA, flow cytometry), basic histology, making buffers and reagent preparation

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Biology, Biotechnology or related fields
  • Candidates with experience in animal (mouse) handling, harvesting and phenotyping will be preferred
  • A self-motivated, positive and optimistic individual who is able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and tackle challenges head on

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.

The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility: 

• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university. 

Terms and Conditions: 
• The Fellowship will be tenable for a period of 3 years.  
• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
