Faculty Position for School of System Design and Intelligent Manufacturing (SDIM)

The Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) is pleased to announce the establishment of the School of System Design and Intelligent Manufacturing (SDIM). The school strives to make fundamental contributions to the changing landscape of engineering education and will focus on training a new generation of graduates who are capable of addressing the complex challenges of the 21st century and serving the strategic national goal of China. Both English and Chinese will be used as the language of instruction in the school.

The school will be a transdisciplinary academic institute beyond the disciplinary perspectives. SDIM provides undergraduate and postgraduate programs that integrate student-centric learning with a curriculum oriented to the societal, environmental, and technological challenges. SDIM undertakes cutting-edge research in system design and technologies for intelligent manufacturing focusing on advanced robotics; sensor and monitoring systems; cyber-physical control systems; computational design; big data analysis; advanced material and additive manufacturing. SDIM will be a platform to nurture manufacturing innovation and accelerate commercialization by fostering close collaboration between industry, academia, and government partners.

Within the next four years, the school is expected to have up to 30 faculty members and to enroll more than 400 undergraduate and postgraduate students. The school is currently searching outstanding academics to fill the positions of tenured senior faculty, tenure-track faculty at different ranks, teaching-track and research-track faculty.

Nominations and applicants are invited from world-class scholars in the areas of system design and intelligent manufacturing. He or she must meet the high academic and professional standards of SUSTech. Remuneration is globally competitive and the level of salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
