Stanford University School of Medicine seeks an Administrator Services Administrator 3 to serve as Executive Director of Stanford Medicine’s newly initiated LGBTQ+ Health program, a unique and comprehensive multi-disciplinary approach to improve the health and well-being of the LGBTQ+ communities.  The program will be a national model in clinical care, research, education, and advocacy.  The Executive Director will work with the School of Medicine and administrative leadership from both Stanford Health Care and Stanford Children’s Hospital (Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital) to lead the LGBTQ+ Health Program and develop, improve, and coordinate LGBTQ+ programming spanning all of Stanford Medicine. This position will report directly to the Chair of Obstetrics & Gynecology.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience leading change management and program development in an academic medical center setting, demonstrated experience and understanding of best practice in LGBTQ+ health care, a successful track record of program leadership, and an entrepreneurial mindset which embraces critical questioning, innovation, service and continuous improvement.

Duties include:

  • Be the Stanford Medicine Lead for strategic planning and analysis for complex functions or programs with significant business, regulatory and/or technical challenges requiring subject matter expertise.
  • Develop and implement the LGBTQ+ Health Program’s mission, vision, and core activities.
  • Collaboratively develop with domain leads a 10-year strategic plan for the program which includes critical milestones for all 4 activity domains including clinical care, research, education, and advocacy.
  • Create business plans, overseeing day-to-day activities, promote organizational culture, report on financial performance, and direct organizational strategy.
  • Oversee or supervise staff in the development and implementation of programs or functions.
  • Act as the internal and external representative of the program in ways that strengthen its profile.
  • Manage the administration and evaluation of LGBTQ+ programs or functions. Recommend actions and/or resolve complex issues that often span organizational boundaries.
  • Represent the program or function at the university level and/or to external/internal stakeholders and constituencies.
  • Develop and manage outreach strategy that includes relationship development, communications, and compliance with communities of interest and other key stakeholders to develop and sustain the program.
  • May develop and/or oversee budgets; manage finances including monitoring, analyzing, forecasting, and reporting.

Bachelor's degree and eight years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
