The Institute of Criminal Justice Studies is the largest criminology department in the UK with an established presence in undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral education, complemented by a successful applied criminology research profile. Within the subject area, the Institute is ranked 5th place nationally in the Guardian Course Guide.

An established part of our innovative courses include providing the underpinning academic knowledge to trainee probation officers throughout England and Wales via e-learning and associated face-to-face masterclasses. We are seeking to recruit a Senior Teaching Fellow to join our vibrant School for a period of maternity cover.

A specific knowledge of one or more of the following subject areas is essential: Desistance from Crime; Risk Assessment of Offenders; Public Protection. 

This post will be based at the University of Portsmouth, and some travel to off-campus teaching locations will be required.
