The Information Technology Directorate delivers high quality ICT Strategic services to support learning, teaching, research and business functions within the University. The Information Technology Directorate is responsible for the planning, management and delivery of information technology and services across the University to ensure the development and implementation of enhanced delivery systems and infrastructure to support the University Strategic Plan and activities.

As Network Specialist you will:

  • provide high quality services, technical advice and cost-effective solutions to the IT Directorate and the broader ACU community
  • undertake full range of activities associated with the Network Administration, project activities and support of the ACU’s LAN and WAN
  • work collaboratively with various IT teams
  • design and implement network solutions.

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate:

  • Completion of, or progress towards, postgraduate qualification in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • Demonstrated experience with network administration based on CISCO (core switches, routers, edge switches and wireless controllers)
  • Extensive knowledge with using network tools like CISCO PRIME, CISCO CMX and CISCO ISE.
  • Experience in monitoring, and managing a Wireless network across multiple locations based on CISCO network infrastructure
  • Strong experience in designing, implementing and troubleshooting routing protocol based on BGP and EIGRP, as well creating new VLANs, network subnets and implementing NAT
  • Experience with the management of Palo Alto Firewalls, VPN appliances and Load Balancers.

Total remuneration valued to $115,017 - $128,589 pa including salary component $97,191 - $108,660 pa (Higher Education Worker Level 8), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
