Description

The University of Chicago's Department of Pediatrics seeks a Clinical Associate at 100% effort for a renewable two-year term to join a growing group of dedicated and engaged pediatric hospitalists. The appointee will staff programs at off-site community hospitals to provide on-site clinical coverage of the pediatric floor, on-site clinical care in the Newborn Nursery, respond to consults from the emergency room and Pediatric Mental Health Unit, attend high risk deliveries, provide care in the general and special care nurseries, and coordinate patient transport as needed.   Opportunities to attend on the inpatient and Mother-Baby Unit at Comer Children’s Hospital are also available. The position does not require teaching or scholarly activity. Compensation is dependent on qualifications.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, 3) be Board certified or eligible in General Pediatrics, and 4) have completed an ACGME-accredited pediatric residency program.
