RESEARCH MANAGER (RESEARCH TRANSPARENCY AND METHODS)Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), to be responsible for J-PAL’s research transparency and RCT methods portfolio, which includes operating the AEA Social Science Registry, publishing RCT data on the Harvard Dataverse, creating and publishing a new RCT data catalog, and tracking affiliates’ research publications. This work includes thinking about the properties of RCT data and reading associated research papers. Through these activities, comprehensive overview of the newest methodological and RCT research in applied economics will be gained. Will also take a key role in the development of new public research resources and training materials for research staff. This includes independent work on the writing of research resources, developing data analysis tools, reviewing reference and teaching materials for research staff, and developing research related training courses.

Job Requirements

REQUIREDmaster’s degree in economics, political science, education, public policy, or related fields; training in and a strong technical understanding of randomized impact evaluations; at least four years’ relevant experience (graduate school academic experience including teaching and research may count as relevant experience); interest in poverty alleviation or other social policy and research as demonstrated by coursework, research, and teaching experience; knowledge of data management, data analysis, econometrics, and statistics; advanced statistical analysis skills; proficiency with Stata, R, Python, or other programming languages used for data analysis; and willingness to learn new programs.
