Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor in the School of Biological Sciences (Ref.: 499828), to commence as soon as possible on a three-year fixed-term basis.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in evolutionary biology or a related field.  Those with postdoctoral experience are desirable.  Fluency in written and spoken English, good organizational skills, the ability to work independently, a strong sense of responsibility and self-motivation are essential.  They should also be experienced in bioinformatics, population genetics, and applying spatial analysis to population dynamics.  The appointee will be expected to develop an independent research program addressing fundamental questions in population and/or evolutionary biology.   Enquiries about the post should be sent to the Faculty of Science at sciappt@hku.hk.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
