Applications are invited for a short-term Postdoctoral Research position in computational galaxy formation, to work with Dr. Robert Crain in the Computational Galaxy Formation and Cosmology group at the Astrophysics Research Institute of Liverpool John Moores University.

The goal of the proposed research is to pursue research in extragalactic astrophysics based primarily on the use of cosmological simulations of the evolution of galaxies and their gaseous environments. You will have experience of analysing state-of-the-art cosmological simulations, either using raw simulation outputs or publicly-available SQL databases. Candidates with an interest in the regulation of galaxy formation by energetic feedback processes, and the interaction of galaxies with their gaseous environments, are particularly encouraged to apply.

You should have a PhD in astronomy/astrophysics or a closely related field by the starting date. The position is offered for up to 6 months. The nominal start date is May 1st 2020, but earlier start dates are possible.
