Role Description

Cranfield University is an international centre of excellence in research and postgraduate teaching in strategic areas of science, technology, engineering and management, directed by the need of industry. We attract 4,500 masters and doctoral students each year from over 100 countries.

Education Services provides a wide range of support to the University's Schools. The department’s strategic objectives are to provide a professional and efficient service to the University's Schools in all of these areas.  A number of staff are embedded within a school and/or theme, and are focused directly on the front line delivery of course administration and student support.

You will join our Short Courses Team, providing a professional and proactive support service to our internal and external customers.  The work is interesting and varied. You will be responsible for managing the delivery of allocated professional development programmes and customer support relating to the university’s short course portfolio and for ensuring high levels of customer service by acting as a key point of contact for enquiries.

This opportunity would suit an experienced and self-motivated Administrator, someone who can make an immediate impact in the team.  You will be highly customer focused, with excellent interpersonal skills and able to support the client relationships between the Short Courses Team and the wider university. A good attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and work to and meet tight deadlines is essential.

In addition, the post holder will be IT literate, including Microsoft Office applications such as; Word, Outlook, Excel. We are looking for an adaptable team member who on occasions is able to work on own initiative, unsupervised and a strong work ethic.

Previous experience of working with computer based records systems and an understanding of higher education administration are desirable although not essential.

At Cranfield we value Diversity and Inclusion, and aim to create and maintain a culture in which everyone can work and study together harmoniously with dignity and respect and realise their full potential.

Our equal opportunities and diversity monitoring has shown that minority ethnic groups are currently underrepresented within the university and so we actively encourage applications from eligible candidates from these groups.

We actively consider flexible working options such as part-time, compressed or flexible hours and/or an element of homeworking, and commit to exploring the possibilities for each role. Find out more here.
