Reporting to the Associate Director of Financial Systems Development & Support, the Salesforce Developer will be responsible for building, configuring, maintaining, and enhancing Salesforce applications that specifically meet and support our Finance and Procurement clients. Additionally, this role will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of solutions that provide timely, relevant information used for operational and analytical decision making. The incumbent will participate in major projects involving architectural design, technology selection, and methodologies; ensure stakeholder requirements, timelines, and budgetary targets are met or exceeded.
We are seeking a highly ambitious and hard-working Salesforce Developer to join our team. This position will work with resources within the team as well as with business analysts within the Finance and Procurement space. This position will provide an overall leadership role within the team and will need to have knowledge and understanding of the Financial related applications they will support.
Will provide a technical role for all aspects of Financial Systems Salesforce footprint. Serve as a technical advisor and mentor to programmers and provide technical guidance to leadership to assist with the formulating of long-range Salesforce application development plans. Duties include: design, build, and deploy custom Salesforce applications based on our Finance customer requirements, data requirements, analysis of data sources, and functional design. Analyze, design and implement large, highly complex Finance systems. Work on migrating Salesforce applications from Classic to Lightning.
Ensure ongoing maintenance and support for applications and systems. Lead technical evaluations. Develop and execute unit test plans. Perform a leadership role in keeping current with existing and emerging technologies and methodologies. Collaborates with ITS in the ongoing establishment and use of Salesforce programming standards and methodologies, with intent to improve overall efficiency of group and client satisfaction. Creates and utilizes best practices for Salesforce development.
Develops test protocols (classes), reviews test results, and remedies as needed. Interface with vendors to resolve major software issues.
This role will take on other technical skills outside of Salesforce as needed to support our clients. In addition to Salesforce, including, but not limited to: platforms such as Workday, Talend, webMethods and web service development.
1. Develops programs or systems of small to moderate size and complexity. Modifies existing systems at all levels of difficulty.
2. Provides informational input into decisions concerning the development and delivery of applications, programs and systems. Defines and analyzes requirements to meet the expectations of stakeholders and intended end user needs, scheduled timeline, and budgetary targets.
3. Analyzes, defines and designs new systems and applications. Writes code in support of business solutions.
4. Responsible for the creation, definition, communication, and management of project plans which includes architectural design, technology selection and methodologies to apply.
5. Troubleshoots problems and provide ongoing maintenance and support for applications and systems.
6. Prepares documentation, user manuals and develops formal proposals for new systems and modifications to existing systems. Mentors technical staff and provide training for end users.
7. Contributes in the development of policies or modifications to exiting policies.
8. Applies and keeps current with existing and emerging technologies and methodologies. Provides ongoing input to the establishment of programming standards, procedures, and methodologies.
9. May perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in a related field and two years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Skill/Ability 1:
Demonstrated ability with Salesforce Classic or Lightning. Demonstrated proficiency with Apex or VisualForce.
Required Skill/Ability 2:
Demonstrated ability integrating Salesforce cloud solution with Financial/Procurement enterprise applications.
Required Skill/Ability 3:
Proven ability to participate in large enterprise projects and mentoring of team members. Ability to follow through on priorities set by the project leadership.
Required Skill/Ability 4:
Ability to understand complex requirements and design Salesforce solutions to meet needs. Proven ability to develop Salesforce solutions independently with little technical oversight.
Required Skill/Ability 5:
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong organizational, problem solving, planning and critical thinking skills. Excellent interpersonal skills.
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:
Previous knowledge/experience migrating applications from Classic to Lightning is highly preferred.
