RESEARCH AND DATA SYSTEMS ANALYST 2, Consortium on Financing Higher Education (COFHE), to analyze, process, maintain, and develop research data systems, primarily on college admissions, financial aid, and surveys of students and assist in developing and implementing research projects to support COFHE’s mission.  COFHE collects, synthesizes, and analyzes institutional data to support member campus decision-making.  Will support COFHE’s core activities of collecting, validating, securing, and distributing data on admissions, financial aid, student outcomes, faculty demographics, and student enrollments. Responsibilities include developing clear research objectives and questions; working with COFHE staff and member institutions to collect, test, clean, and refine data; processing definitional variations to make data comparable across member schools; producing descriptive and inferential analyses; synthesizing findings in numeric/graphical/written forms; and presenting to audiences in formats and styles designed to make the data useful to policy-makers. 

Job Requirements
REQUIRED
:  bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred); at least two years’ quantitative social science research experience, preferably in a higher education setting; strong research and applied statistical skills; proficiency with Excel, SPSS, Stata (or other statistical packages) and data visualization tools; proficiency with a scripting language (Python, Perl, Ruby) and SQL; familiarity with at least one of the following--Linux and BASH scripting, Oracle/Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft SharePoint, SCCM and Group Policy, and/or Windows PowerShell; technical proficiency with data testing, management, and analysis and ability to understand data content and context; excellent analytical and oral and written communication skills; project management experience and skills; experience with survey research or institutional research projects; background in and experience working with high-level security procedures; self-motivation; and ability to manage multiple tasks under competing deadlines and work as part of a team.  Job #18534-7
