DEVELOPMENT OFFICER, Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), to lead and support execution of J-PAL’s donor engagement and stewardship strategies as part of a creative, energetic team that works closely with staff across J-PAL’s program areas.  Will develop and deliver on an organizational fund-raising strategy to establish sustainable funding streams to expand J-PAL’s efforts to translate research into action worldwide.  Responsibilities include working with J-PAL leadership to develop and execute a multi-year strategic plan for fund-raising and donor engagement for its network of seven offices; supporting relationship management for several existing individual and organizational donors; conducting prospect research and cultivating relationships with a range of potential individual and organizational donors; building systems to support donor engagement; tracking funding opportunities and supporting the development of proposals to philanthropic foundations and other international funders; supporting development of engaging outreach content; and providing vital input to short- and long-term strategic and operational planning. 

Job Requirements
REQUIRED
: bachelor’s degree; at least four years’ experience fund-raising for academic research or international development activities from a range of funding streams, including high net worth individuals and philanthropic foundations; knowledge and understanding of the priorities of major funders in the international development field, including foundations and governments; experience executing on a fund-raising strategy, ideally at a large institution, and executing a multi-stakeholder initiative/campaign; self-motivation and desire to work independently to achieve strategic goals; and excellent organizational, project management, interpersonal, writing, and presentation skills.  Seek a fund-raising and relationship management professional who is committed to J-PAL’s mission of reducing poverty by ensuring that policy is informed by scientific evidence.  Job #18516-10

Must be willing to travel within the United States and overseas, including to J-PAL regional offices in Chile, France, India, Indonesia, and South Africa.
