This position is contingent upon funding and reports to the senior administrator within department and has a dotted reporting line to the PSOM Office of Research Support Services.

Job Description

Grants Manager A:
Primary purpose of this role is to support the research activities of a specific School/Center. Under limited supervision, this position will manage the sponsored program funds from pre-award through post-award while working with Principal Investigators on proposal development, budget development and related pre-award requirements and submission for a diverse sponsor portfolio. The individual will also manage the post-award processes including monitoring and review of all charges, reconciliation of accounts, and preparation of monthly financial reports for Principal Investigators. Consults with research faculty in the preparation of sponsored project budget and proposals; review proposals for compliance with sponsor and University policies and ensure Regulatory Affairs requirements are satisfied and that Conflict of Interest statements are submitted when required. Provides full accounting services, reconciling budgets, processing payroll, financial reporting; monitors grant expenditures for compliance with sponsor regulations and guidelines.

Grants Manager B:
All Duties listed above plus the following:
Provide pre and post award financial administrative support for the Radiology Research Program; includes post- award management and financial reporting.  Manages  over  approximately  $10  Million LSMRI,  Hyperpolar  and  CBICA   research   funding,   and  also  manages $2.5 M  in  start-up  funding.  Provides  oversight  for  clinical  and  animal  research  submissions  including  NIH,  Industry,   and  Foundation awards  totaling  approximately  $24  million.  Under  the  Radiology  Research  administration;   coordinate activities regarding purchasing, grant proposals and budget development;  monitor  and  assist  in  preparation  and  reconciliation  of  monthly  Ben  Financials  and  Business Object reports with departmental records  of  transactions  for  both  agency  and  grant funds.  Track new proposals through budget development, contract negotiations, and study initiation. Invoice sponsor for study payments based on contract/patient activity. Reconcile payments with contract specifications. Process  study  payments  through  the  University's  system  and  budget  funds  based  on initial study proposal track accounts revenue, expenses, and account details.

Qualifications

Grants Manager A
Bachelor's Degree with 3-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required

Qualifications

Grants Manager B

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting with 5-7 years of experience in pre and post award research administration or equivalent combination of education and experience required

Experience in University research and financial systems, including Business Objects/Data Warehouse, PennERA, Workday, Payroll Reallocation, SOMERA, BEN Financials strongly preferred
