The Bachelor of Medical Science (BMS) program is a year-long research training course and is purposefully designed to suit the needs of international medical/clinical training programs who wish their students to undertake an intercalated research program. BMS students learn the theory, practical application and skills required to acquire, evaluate and apply medical and research evidence and implement a research project. BMS students are given the opportunity to broaden their experience and understanding of the relationship between clinical health care and research by undertaking research and/or clinical placements in a clinical setting. This program is undergoing expansion and requires a course coordinator, to oversee all aspects of the academic coordination and delivery of the BMS program. 

The Lecturer (Clinical Research Training) will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of the course, and assessment and evaluation of associated subjects. They will also provide a high level of ongoing support, mentoring and pastoral care to enrolled students.

The incumbent will develop and implement new and innovative teaching initiatives to meet the needs of research training students and contribute to the development of innovative research training curricular to support the future expansion of the program. The Lecturer (Clinical Research Training) reports to the Clinical Research Training Director and works closely and collaboratively with other academic and administrative staff within the Department of Medical Education. The appointee will contribute to the Department teaching administration and actively promote the program internationally.
