Functional alignment harmonises colleagues who work in the same specialism in different business units, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of King's.  

Consequently, the approach to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion within King's is evolving and developing. The ED&I function is based in the Human Resources directorate/People and Organisation function within King's College London. The D&I operating model enables the identification of strategic, institutional priorities, a King's wide D&I plan and provides flexibility to the university in terms of delivery of that plan.  

This position is within the Consultancy Team, a team within EDI function who lead on strategic, university wide programmes and provide expert consultancy within the organization. This role holder will bring expertise to improve the student and staff experience by developing and implementing initiatives to support the full academic and professional staff and student lifecycles at King's. This role will work across the institution contributing to a high performing function. 

  • As part of the EDI function, lead, develop and coordinate the delivery of the EDI strategy, including responsibility for the delivery of organisation wide diversity, inclusion and engagement programmes and workstreams. Support other programmes and workstreams as part of the EDI function  
  • To take a lead expert role on specific aspects of equality, diversity and inclusion.  
  • Be lead EDI consultant for a number of Faculty and Directorate clients complementing and supporting the new D&I operating model.  
  • Network and liaise closely with customers, service providers and external bodies and create on-going relationships.  

This role requires agile and flexible working, and will involve working under pressure in ambiguous circumstances. The role will be based predominantly in Waterloo, and will need to travel and work across all of King's London campuses (Strand, Waterloo, Guy's, and Denmark Hill).
