Applications are invited for appointment as Lecturer in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (Ref.: 499682), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal.
Applicants should possess a medical qualification registrable with the Medical Council of Hong Kong and an interest in pursuing a career in academic medicine. They should demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and curriculum development, and preferably possess specialized knowledge and an expertise which can help reinforce and advance the strengths of the Faculty’s and the Department’s teaching in the undergraduate medical curriculum. Preference will be given to those with previous experience in developing online course materials or e-learning assessment activities. Fluency in both English and Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is also essential. The appointee will conduct tutorials/bedside teaching, undertake clinical supervision of students, and organize various clinical projects. In addition, the appointee is expected to participate in basic and applied clinical research as well as services/administration at the Department, the Faculty and the University levels. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
