Stanford Graduate School of Business plans to hire a Major Gifts Associate who reports to the Regional Director of Development and works closely with the major gift team and across the GSB and University to ensure excellent customer relationships with our donors and alumni.  The Major Gifts Associate will provide general administrative support to three members of the major gift team, and will be responsible for a range of programmatic and administrative assignments within the major gifts team, many of which will be specifically related to the team’s central fundraising, cultivation, and stewardship goals. Staffing occasional evening and weekend events may be required. Flexible hours may be considered.

Under direct supervision, provide administrative and routine support to fundraising programs and activities.  Work with front-line fundraising staff, donors, volunteers, and other university staff to assist in establishing and maintaining relationships with all university constituencies. 

Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Provide project and administrative support.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining systems. 
  • Build a network of relevant contacts, and stay informed on current university initiatives and activities.
  • Review and track funds and report on use of gifts, as assigned.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of events and donor cultivation, as needed.
  • Retrieve information about prospects and donors, update records, and generate reports using the university external relations database.
  • Track budget(s), and process reimbursements for department.
  • Assist in the design, publication and production of fundraising materials. 
  • Be flexible to completing any other additional assigned duties.

To be successful in this position, you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree and one year relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Knowledge of database systems, such as Microsoft Access and Excel
  • Ability to work efficiently, juggle tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, and achieve goals.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with a wide range of people.
  • Outstanding communication skills and exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
