About the Job

The Student Engagement Unit (SEU) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to support the unit achieve its objectives relating to student mental health and wellbeing. As the Manager: Counselling, you will be a strategic adviser to the Director and Deputy Director on matters relating to the professional, accessible, safe and effective counselling services across the University. Working with key stakeholders, you will lead, plan and evaluate counselling services, policies and related activities.

Managing a team of Counsellors across all metropolitan campuses as well as services for onshore domestic, international, regional and online students, you will lead counselling service delivery to ensure UniSA’s diverse range of student cohorts can utilise a quality and accessible service.

Skills and Experience

We are seeking a leader who will bring significant experience managing counselling/clinical services, with skills in case management and clinical supervision in a brief intervention delivery model. With strong people management skills, you will be well versed in developing, coaching and motivating staff to cultivate a positive team culture.

To be successful, you will have postgraduate qualifications and relevant experience (or an equivalent combination of experience and education), as well as eligibility for full membership of either the Australian Psychological Society (APS) or Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
