Australia’s University of Enterprise

At UniSA, we educate global professionals ready to create and inspire change, and we deliver research that is informed by end users, as well as inspired by global challenges and opportunities, to deliver economic and social prosperity.

You’ll enjoy a dynamic and agile culture, with a “can do” attitude, which thrives on breaking new ground.

We look for those with the right knowledge, with creativity and a can-do attitude, who know how to communicate and collaborate. We value people who are inspired by new challenges, who ask questions and propose solutions, who are authentic, engaged and committed to our goals as a university.

The University is embarking on an ambitious plan, Enterprise 25, to place People, Programs and Precincts at the heart of the University’s operations. This will position UniSA as the go-to university for people who want successful global careers, as well as for industry and the professions that want to collaborate with our researchers to drive and create their own futures.

As part of this transformation, we are creating seven new Academic Units to support our Enterprise 25 strategy, and enable a greater focus on the quality of our teaching, research and student experience.

About UniSA Justice and Society

UniSA Justice and Society is a new Academic Unit addressing areas of critical social need through quality teaching, learning and research excellence.

UniSA Justice and Society offers a wide range of degrees and conducts world-class research in the fields of law, psychology, social work, human services and social sciences. Our researchers are exploring a diverse range of topics including the efficacy of legal institutions and legal process, corporate law, ageing, workplace mental health and psychosocial risk factors, youth issues, cognition and health, bullying and harassment, Aboriginal social issues, and learning and sleep. Drawing from this unique combination of expertise, we are able to develop new knowledge and multi-disciplinary solutions to some of society’s most pressing issues.

About the Job

We are seeking an exceptional individual to play a key role in the high impact senior leadership team within the newly created UniSA Justice and Society Academic Unit.

As General Manager you will make a critical contribution to the development and implementation of the strategic goals, business priorities, outcomes and culture of the Justice and Society Academic Unit and the broader aspirations of the University.

The General Manager will provide leadership, management and mentoring to the professional staff in the Unit, and lead high performance and excellent service delivery and operational support to the teaching programs and research activities. This includes responsibility for student and academic services, research services, governance and facility support services, marketing and alumni relations and external engagement.

Skills and Experience

To be successful, you will hold a postgraduate qualification and have extensive experience leading multi-disciplinary and resilient teams, positively contributing to the creation of a strong service-oriented and collaborative culture.

Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, together with experience navigating complex funding arrangements, developing business cases and leading systemic compliance with policies and procedures will serve you well in this position. Experience developing and fostering business relationships with industry, community and government partners will be a hallmark of your stakeholder management skills.

Your strong project management skills, including understanding budgets, reporting and contingency management will ensure that you are a leading contributor in cross-functional teams, able to achieve exceptional project outcomes.

Benefits on Offer

We offer a competitive remuneration package that includes generous superannuation contributions of up to 17%, and we have a family friendly approach to ensure you enjoy a healthy work/life balance.
