Reports to:        Heads of Workshops & Head of Academic Resources 
Hours:            Full-time; Monday to Friday, 10am – 6pm 

The Architectural Association was founded in 1847, opening as a day school in 1901. The AA is committed to public benefit attained by the learning, teaching, discussion and promotion of architecture.  The School is recognised as a worldwide leader in architectural education, with graduates that include many of the world’s leading architects, scholars, critics and educators. The academic and professional programmes of study at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, up to and including doctoral level, are validated by external professional and academic bodies.

Role Overview:

The ethos of the Workshops at the Architectural Association is to create a safe and supportive environment for students and staff to develop and complete their schoolwork and AA projects. All staff are essential in achieving this aim and their role is to support, assist and advise students with their architectural model making and other fabricating work. This involves the use of a broad variety of wood and metal machines and other pieces of equipment for model making, including hand and power tools.

You will work with students and support their studio projects, technical and environmental submissions and realising their ideas through physical models. In working with the students, you are likely to work in a variety of scales and materials to create beautifully crafted models.
