  • Located at the School of Public Health on the Camperdown Campus within the Faculty of Medicine and Health
  • Part-time 0.5 FTE, fixed-term role with a base salary of $60,889 - $67,613 pro rata plus superannuation 

About the opportunity 

The Patient Navigator will be trained to use their knowledge of the disease process, the health care system and the services available to help patients in the community during and after their treatment. You will support a patient by helping to identify their needs and linking them to the services and resources they require.

This is a part-time, fixed-term position where you will support our research study by assessing whether a patient navigator program will help improve health and quality of life outcomes in children with chronic kidney disease (CKD). The role will be to support children and families with CKD one-on-one by assisting with the provision of their supportive care needs.

  • experience working with families and young children in a community, ideally within a health setting
  • excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with sound negotiating and conflict resolution skills and a demonstrated level of tact and discretion in dealing with day to day operational matters
  • a current driver’s license
  • the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and exercising sound judgement in resolving matters that may arise as part of normal daily work
  • the ability to adapt to different environments and locations
