Since the Postdoctoral experience is transitional to becoming an independent researcher or faculty member, the Postdoctoral tries their best to acquire the varied skills necessary to advance their career with guidance from the advisor. These skills include, but are not limited to, the ability to present research plans and findings in a convincing style, both in oral and written modes of communication, the ability to understand research group management and supervision of others, the ability to establish contacts and network with colleagues pursuing a similar research agenda, the ability to organize and teach a class or a course if more inclined towards a teaching career.
Detailed Description
Operational Responsibilities
- Design and perform core flood experiments to characterize rock/fluid interaction properties of carbonate rocks
- Perform high-pressure high-temperature contact angle and interfacial measurements for several rock/fluid combinations
- Interpret and analyze the experimental results
- Contribute to the project success by accomplishing the set objectives
- Participate in meetings with supervisor/principal investigator and present research findings
- Write scientific publications and present results in reputable conferences
- Ensure compliance to laboratory HSE responsibilities and standards
- Supervisory Responsibilities
- Assist graduate students in research and other teaching-related activities
Job Requirements
Required Qualifications
PhD Degree in Petroleum Engineering or Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline from a reputable institute
Required Experience
- Experience of conducting rock-fluid interfacial interactions experiments as demonstrated by scholarly publications.
- Experience of conducting high-pressure core flooding experiments.
- Experience on rock characterization tools including, but are not limited to, SEM, XRD, AFM.
- A track record of quality publications in scientific journals and presentations in international conferences
