The Department of Management and Marketing (MM) is one of the constituent departments of the Faculty of Business. MM is dedicated to providing cutting-edge knowledge and practical skills for our students in three key areas of business — Management, Marketing, and Management Information Systems. MM offers a full range of programmes leading to the awards of Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Science, and Bachelor of Business Administration. MM currently has around 50 full-time academic staff who are actively involved in research, consultancy, and management development work with businesses in Hong Kong, the Chinese mainland, and internationally. MM is committed to excellence in teaching, research and service to the community.
The Marketing discipline of the Department invites applications for faculty positions at the ranks of Associate Professor and Assistant Professor. Marketing faculty members in MM regularly publish their research in top-tier refereed marketing journals such as the Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Marketing, and Marketing Science. The appointee will be required to (a) engage in top-level scholarly research in their areas of expertise; (b) supervise research students; (c) secure external competitive research grants; (d) teach at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels; and (e) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Department or his delegates.
Applicants should have an earned doctoral degree at the time of appointment or be close to receiving it.
Preference will be given to those with research interest in Quantitative Marketing, a strong research orientation and the potential to publish in high quality scholarly journals. Strong candidates in other areas of marketing will also be considered. Applicants may be considered for the rank at Associate Professor depending on experience and qualifications.
Remuneration and Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment for Assistant Professor will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. An appropriate term will be provided for appointment at Associate Professor level.
