We are seeking a Trial Nurse for the CHIEF-PD clinical trial – Cholinesterase inhibitors to prevent falls in Parkinson’s disease. This position offers an excellent opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team within the University of Bristol, and collaborators at participating NHS hospitals. As an integral member of the team, in this role you will provide clinical practical and research support for the project, as well as liaising with participants, NHS hospitals and research networks.
On a day-to-day basis you will be working closely with the other members of the research group within which CHIEF-PD is embedded and at times will be asked to contribute to this wider programme of work. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an ability to be highly organised and take an appropriate level of responsibility.
CHIEF-PD is an NIHR-HTA funded placebo controlled randomised controlled trial which examines whether rivastigmine (a dementia drug) can prevent people with Parkinson’s from falling. The trial is structured with an internal pilot phase and a formal review at 18 months to determine if the trial will proceed with a planned total of 51 months (including analysis and dissemination) in 26 centres.
