Job Description

One Post-Doctoral assistant position is available in the laboratories of Dr. Bassem Shaban Sadek in the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, United Arab Emirates University. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to investigate the role of newly developed agents in neurodegenerative behavioral diseases. The ideal candidate should have PhD in Behavioral Pharmacology. The position will be supported by a UAE University Post-Doctoral Research Grant initially for one-year renewable for a second year. The fund is made available for one year which can be extended for another one year depending upon the productivity.

Minimum Qualification

The applicant must have an advanced degree (BSc or MSc) with relevant research experience.

Expected Skills/Rank/Experience

It is expected that the person is highly motivated, hardworking and can work independently. Good understanding of handling mouse and rat for behavioral experiments, experience with basic microscopy, staining techniques (immunohistochemistry), basic molecular biology skills (e.g. Western blotting, cloning, PCR) are required.
