Coventry University is seeking an Associate Professor in Behavioural and Implementation Science to join its Centre for Intelligent Healthcare. The Centre aims to become a globally recognised research centre for pioneering and opinion-setting research in the area of digital healthcare and its contribution to improving communities and enriching and prolonging individual lives. This is one of several positions being advertised to build capacity in both the new research centre and the Theme, Behavioural and Implementation Science.

The Centre is home to a vibrant programme of work –in Prototype Design and Testing, Epidemiology and Evidence Based Healthcare, and Behavioural and Implementation Science including projects in the development of online digital healthcare platforms, wearable and remote monitoring technologies, biomedical signal processing, A.I. algorithms in healthcare, big data analytics and device innovation. Our health technology development is person centred, embracing a holistic model of healthcare derived from the needs of local, national and international communities. It undergoes testing from early piloting to RCTs. We have established programmes of research in violence and health; faith-based communities, living with long-term conditions including an international RCT of Technology-Enabled Remote Monitoring and Self-Management intervention for those living with cardiovascular disease.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with drive and ambition in a new team in the Behavioural and Implementation Science Theme to initiate new programmes in the study of chronic health including chronic physical and mental health conditions.  The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate development of interventions and use of novel methodologies in relation to real-world public health or clinical problems, and experience of working with public health bodies and policy makers. The successful candidate will be internationally recognised, with a strong track record of attracting funding and an extensive portfolio of high quality publications. The post holder will develop the academic and commercial potential within the Centre for Intelligent Healthcare to ensure this continues to reflect the leadership of interdisciplinary research whilst delivering excellence with impact in line with our Corporate Strategy.

If you are interested in the position and wish to know more, please contact Professor Deborah Lycett Deborah.lycett@coventry.ac.uk  This is a permanent full-time post and we are looking to fill the position as soon as possible.
