Position overview

The Research School of Earth Sciences is a leading centre of geophysical research in Australia, with particularly strong seismology and mathematical geophysics group. Researchers have a tradition of excellence in in the area of observational and theoretical seismology, with particular emphasis on imaging of deep Earth structure through combining complementary datasets and the use of innovative techniques. The School has a strong international reputation in various areas of the earth and marine sciences. The Postdoctoral Fellow will become part of a dynamic team and will be expected to help drive forward new and exciting research.

The Seismology and Mathematical Geophysics research group within the Research School of Earth Sciences has broad interests ranging from elucidating lithospheric structures, to studying the inner core, to developing new methods for imaging Earth's interior and characterising earthquake sources.

The group is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow who have seismological research experience in some or all of the following areas: theoretical and observational seismology, inverse theory and mathematical geophysics, full waveform modelling and correlation wavefield to join the research group.
