LJMU is seeking a research assistant to help with a British Academy-funded project on news literacy education in schools. The project has the backing of Ofcom and aims to contribute to the current lively policy debate around critical and digital literacy in the age of mis- and disinformation.
You will be employed on a part-time basis (0.4) for two months, the equivalent of approximately 16 working days, beginning in mid-March. The research team is happy to discuss flexible working patterns within this time-frame, and the assistant will be able to work remotely but will be expected to attend occasional research team meetings in either London or Liverpool (your choice).
You will have experience of research at a postgraduate level and expertise in communications, journalism, media education or a related field. Their primary role will be to work with the researchers (who are based at LJMU and Goldsmiths) to gather and collate data on existing news literacy initiatives, although there is scope for involvement in other research activities such as literature reviews and the preparation of primary research (focus groups and case studies).
LJMU values diversity and provides a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone can fulfil their potential.
Please note all of our vacancies will be closed to applications at midnight on the advertised closing date, unless otherwise stated.
